Frayed vintage Thai silk fabric in a periwinkle-peppered shade of pink dances amongst jade-colored glass beads in this one-of-a-kind statement necklace. The shabby-chic aesthetic of its design is made even more bold on one side, where white glass pearls meet four bows tied from raw strips of natural organic cotton poplin. The same organic cotton poplin also creates a tie closure that allows for various lengths. Designed and handmade by Melissa Baswell in Chicago from vintage silk, organic cotton scraps, and reclaimed beads.
Melissa named this special piece after her 95 year-old grandmother Mary who traveled the world in her younger days, always bringing home exotic fabrics and passing on leftover scraps to Melissa (including the silk used in this design).
